Internal Investigations

Schmitz & Partner conducts reviews with respect to potential compliance violations.

Where there is suspicion of non-compliance within a company, we conduct internal investigations. If necessary, we coordinate the investigation with the criminal prosecution or regulatory authorities.

We draft legal opinions on compliance with rules and policies for management boards and supervisory boards and develop proposals for optimization.

Our work in this respect entails the analysis of existing or developing new compliance structures (existence and quality of ethical standards, rulebooks, whistle-blower systems). We also offer our services as external ombudsperson for whistle-blowers to our clients.

Following internal investigations, we support our clients in claiming damages and in the event of questions arising in connection with the coverage and liability of D&O insurers.
